New Miss Vicks café crowned ahead of Miss SA

Miss Vicks café is an annual event that takes place during spring in Soshanguve block TT, it’s usually held at Vicks café where they enable young girls to showcase their talent. It’s is an event that took place ahead of the crowning of the new Miss South Africa 2021/2022, as South Africans are waiting to see their new Miss south Africa Miss Vicks café paved a way by hosting its third miss Vicks annual event.

Despite challenges such as covid 19 Vicks café successfully hosted its event under consideration of covid 19 regulations, the event was held at Vicks café where, Khutso Mokonyane was crowned as Miss Vicks café 2021/2022, Khutso Mokonyane was rewarded with an amount of R2000,00 cash, a certificate of appreciation, and gifts such as flowers and a sash.

 Like any other pageant, Khutso Floral was awarded as the first princess of Miss Vicks café 2021/2022 who was rewarded with R1500,00 cash, flowers and a sash. A TUT soshanguve campus student Summer Shipalane became the second princess of Miss Vicks café 2021/2022 and was rewarded with R1000,00 cash and gifts of the same nature as the other models.

The event was not limited to the queen, first and second princess but Kurhula Mashaba was rewarded as an ambassador of Vicks café 2021/2022 and she was awarded a certificate of appreciation and R500,00 cash price. On the same event Buhle Tshabalala was crowned as the best dresser, the contestants were also tasked to create social media pages where their followers can make comments and share their pictures, and Ceila Monyai was awarded with a public choice certificate, and a sash. Miss popularity was awarded to Khutso Mokonyane.

“the event is not only looking at the models but upcoming artists, we invite them to come and perform” said Vicks the owner of Vicks café and an organizer of Miss Vicks café. “we organize such kind of events to enable girls to showcase their talent and keep them off the streets” he added.

The mood was overwhelming and participants were excited and believe the event was a success, the second princess of Miss Vicks café Summer Shipalane said “the ladies were ready and I am happy to be crowned as the second princess and the event was a success”

“I believe in women empowerment; I believe we as women should be empowering each other more than we’re pulling each other down” said Miss Vicks 2020 kgotlelo Sethedi who’s also an organizer of Miss Vicks café. Sethedi is a student and an entrepreneur who lives around Pretoria who believes and work on giving out what she has, as she runs an organization that helps the needy around Pretoria.
