TUT SCORPIONS’ BATSMAN WERE NOT JOKER

Another fixture of the Titans Second League presenting TUKS 6 up against TUT 3 (Scorpions) from 12h00 till 17h00 on Saturday, 4 March 2023 at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Laduma Stadium Scorpions won this match then climbed the Titans Second League table from number 4 to number 3, claiming the three points to reach forty points.

TUKS 6 won the toss and chose to bat first allowing them to set the pace of the game. TUKS 6 had the advantage to bat first however, Scorpions flipped the coin around and claimed victory by eight wickets. These results shows that Scorpions batman’s’ covered TUK 6 runs with more batman’s’ to spare.

 Scorpions are still in the title race mathematically whereas TUKS 6 are struggling to escape relegation zone which sets Ahead of the game the Coach of the Scorpions Thapelo Motloutseta said “Every game is a crucial game now as we are left with only three games, so we better be switched on.”

On the other hand, TUKS 6 had new recruitments on their team, one of them was Mlungisi Mashinini (22) who is a batter. Mlungisi Mashinini said “The game went south after our first two wickets were taken out early because we had to cover more runs after them.”   TUKS 6 chose to bat first and recorded eighty-eight runs (10 wickets, 18.3 overs) then had to bowl for Scorpion to which Scorpions reached eighty-nine runs (2 wickets, 16.0 overs) by only losing two wickets.

Mostly it is families that supports the Cricket athletes like their children and wife Martha Cortez stated “These games are a nice escape from weekdays work to weekend family time, just to relax the mind from stress.” Mathematically still in the race for the title, until the next game on Saturday, 11 March 2023 12:00 PM, Scorpions vs Sinoville 4 at Hillview. A VICTIM OF ROBBERY ATTACK GET DISCHARGED

An attempted robbery in one of SVA factories left one security guard wounded.

The victim of the armed robbery attack that took place in one of SVA factories Tuesday on the 27th of February 2023, got discharged on the 28th of February 2023 after getting minor injuries during the attack. On the 27th of February 2023, one of SVA factories got attacked by unknown suspects in Zone 15 around 01:38 AM at Zone 15 in Ga-Rankuwa.

 The police have confirmed that the victim has got minor injuries and he is busy recovering at his home in Ga-Rankuwa during this attempted robbery there were 4 security guards on duty and only 1 got shot. These perpetrators came and disarmed 2 firearms from the security guards and when the securities started to fight back, one of them got stroked in his head.

Mr Shimi Tsheole, a Communication Officer at Ga-Rankuwa SAPS said ‘’Indeed I can confirm that there was an attempted robbery that took place in one of SVA factories at ZONE 15 industrial park. This robbery left one security guard sustained with minor injuries after he got striked in his head. The victim is now out of hospital and busy recovering at home’’
The SVA factory is no longer of service and it has been not operating for about 3 years. The factory got closed immediately after the robbery as it was not safe for the securities to continue working. Mr Tsheole said, ‘’the building has not been operating for about 3 years now but it is not abandoned as it is still under someone ownership. The factory is closed at the moment and the suspects are still on the run. Criminals always target these kind of factories especially here at zone 15’’.

 Fortunate Chantel Sebotsa who reside nearby the factory accuses foreign nationals for such crimes “Zimbabweans are the ones who are behind the criminal activities in Zone 15. They must go back home; we are tired" she said.

The suspects are still on the run and not yet been arrested. The police are urging the community of zone 15 to work with them in finding these perpetrators.
